Toedscruel ex 022 counts itself as benched pokemon

Title sums it up. I had a Toedscruel ex with 2 grass energy in the active and the opponent had an Ampharos ex in their active . There was a collapsed stadium in play and I had mons with energy on my bench. My bench consisted of 2 Eldegoss 016/203, a radiant Tsareena, and a Toedscool on my bench. only an Eldegoss and and the Toedscool had an energy attached. I used Toedscruels Colony rush which does 80 damage plus 40 for each beneched mon with grass energy attached. The attack did 200 damage in this instance instead of the proper 160. I am assuming my active Toedscruel was counter when calculating damage.

Yeah, had this also played against me. It’s also counting non grass energy into the damage.

As best as I can understand what is happening, the Toedscruel ex in the active counts itself (which is shouldn't), it counts any benched Pokemon with grass energy (which it should), and it counts any evolved grass type Pokemon without any energy (which is should not).

I've just seen this in my own game playing a Toedscruel ex mirror match. The damage did indeed include the active toedscruel, however, once all the bench pokemon had energy the active no longer counted towards the damage. It capped at the proper 280.

I just played against a Toedscruel ex deck with Gholdengo ex. The first time Toedscruel attacked, it they had a full bench with 1 Grass on each one. It did the full 280, minus 30 for Gholdengo’s resistance.

However the next turn, they evolved one of their benched Pokémon and attached an extra Grass energy, and it did 320 (290 with resistance).

So now it might be counting the total attached energy, rather than the number of benched Pokémon.
