How would you describe Pokemon to someone who's never even HEARD of or SEEN the franchise?

You know how you like cute animal fights? It's basically that but in a video game.

Someone who doesn't know whate Pokémon is. (Like those people that say PokémAN) "Pokéman? What's Pokéman?"

Me: "First of all it's PokémON, they are these animals that shoot sparks, and shoot fireballs basicly. And people (like people who collect rocks. Collect Pokémon CARDS. Like baseball cards. Pokémon also has video games."

I would go ahem and then start explaining exactly how the entire gameplay and creatures and types and everything works until they either said 'I get it' or I somehow manage to run out of stuff to say.
