What is your luckiest moment in any mainline Pokemon Game?

Not a single moment, but a recurring scenario that I swear Gamefreak has some code buried somewhere to enable this very situation.
I will frequently whittle a legendary Pokémon down to low HP with some status ailment, expend all of my better or more appropriate balls trying to capture it, only to throw a regular Pokeball I picked up somewhere in a last ditch effort and successfully capture it.
Had I thrown the Pokeball first it never would have worked. It only ever happens as a desperation play. Again, statistically there is no reason this couldn't happen to me repeatedly by sheer chance. But it feels suspect.

I found three shinier within like... A week, maybe? Shinx came first, then Heracross, then Cetoddle. I also found a shiny Hawlucha, but I killed it accidentally.😥

In pokemon sun, ultra sun, and ultra moon I have caught tapu bulu with a basic pokeball. All the other types of balls that I have used were failures but for some reason it just loves pokeballs.
