Why gems exclusive? That would and does make a lot of us mad. They do that anyway with treasure box "challenges" and the throwing ball prize machine which, if you really want the holowear or avatar gear, you end up spending a lot of money. They give us false hopes of actually being able to "win" the items(s) but the reality is that the odds are very much against you.
I say you should be able to earn them & have a gems price. Not gems exclusive.

You misread my post, i said when things come out at first, they should be gem exclusive to give them company a chance to earn a bit of money from people who want things right away. Later on, when the holowear isn't new anymore, they should be rolled out as a ticket and gem price.

I still disagree with that first part.
Trainers already pay to get maps completed faster for the dice rolls, or research for the new pokemon completed ahead of everyone else... This is evident when you play ranked and they already have the license for whatever Pokemon it is.
They also make more money now on battle passes since many of us do pay for those (also evident in how many earn the actual holowear) then they used to because they are charging about the same amount now that they charged before the Glacieon battle pass (December 2025?). Before that pass we would pay one amount, for the chance to earn via missions, one good holowear, a secondary lesser holowear for a different Pokemon, and three sets of avatar gear on top of the normal other things. Now they only offer the normal other things and one good holowear. They reduced their product while keeping the price about the same thus actually raising the prices.
I do like the your idea to allow us to be able to earn and pay for older holowear/avatar gear via tickets. I have my eye on sooooooo many I would like, but, alas, I know that in reality, unless they give out boxes more often like we've received over these past couple of months, I will probably never get them. Sigh.

The whole point is that they are going to charge money for brand new cosmetics, THAT will never go away, so may as well appeal to their desire, but give them a good way to build solid rapport with the community by rolling off the older stuff to in game currency, that's the entire idea. Yes let someone who wants something now buy it at the start for cash, but maybe a year after its release its open to in game currency or something. Capitalists get to see line go up, players have something to look forward to/incentive to play and save tickets. I don't see how anyone looses in that model and that's all my idea was.

I understand that, but they already allow immediate purchase via gems, in direct and or convoluted ways (i.e. direct purchase via gems, gems purchasing dice rolls/treasure chest openings/upgrade treasure boxes, gems purchasing extra daily throwing balls, gems purchasing research for new licenses, etc) and people who want it/them immediately do already pay for it/them.
Why limit the new things to ONLY gem purchase until a year later for those who need to earn it? We have already put so much money into this game, way more than a standard Pokemon console game....
Consider this.... a standard battle pass as of right now costs about 699 gems. If you can't purchase gems on sale, that would be 60 gems = $1 (USD). So $12 (USD) per pass. Now, you only get the chance to earn one holowear for that pass after you purchase the pass. If you were to buy ONLY the battle passes and no other items, in one year (assuming about one a month which seems to be the standard) that's 12 x $12 = $144 per year per person! That's way more than your typical $70 - $80 cost of a console game. So don't worry, they are making their money as it is. And no, please don't make things gem exclusive until a year from release. In fact, I have barely been playing a year and if we didn't have earnable events, I think I would have been disappointed in this game a long time ago. Right now, it's a fine line they straddle between a cash grab and being considerate of their customers/trainers/players or whatever you want to call us.
Yes, again, it would be nice if we could earn via tickets, older things such as hollower. We currently do that with license points too if you miss the events of newly released Pokemon or didn't pay gems to obtain it early (mostly those people who want to use them in ranked before nerfs and before others have it, so it gives them an "edge").
So again, I disagree with the first part but wholeheartedly agree with the second part of your idea. Sorry, I just view it differently.

It's more because not everybody engages with the game the same way as you do. Not everybody's going to buy battle passes. Some people are only ever going to have the free version, the only way they will generate the kind of revenue they are expected to make is to use buy it and gottcha style mechanics for cosmetics. I get that you spend money on BPs, and critiques on the rewards for those is 100% valid, but this is entirely an appeal for at least SOMETHING to look forward to instead of nothing at all. Would it be nice if a company would let brand new cosmetics and new mons go for free to anyone who has saved a bazillion tickets? Sure, but then how do you expect them to justify running the servers when the revenue halves for the game?

Okay so my first response isn't showing for me to edit so sorry if this repost/restructure is on top of my first.
You say you understand, but then immediately your solution is antithetical to the inevitable reality of what they're going to do as a company. Yes, it would be super nice of the mega corporation to allow players who amass tickets to get new mons and cosmetics for free/their investment of time in their free game, but that's never going to happen and keep the lights on for the studio and servers. This games livelihood depends on in game purchases, gottcha mechanics, and subscription style features. There are fair critiques that can be made about the rewards from those products, absolutely.
However; it is critical to understand that you don't have to engage with EVERY single paid feature. You are correct, if you battle pass and subscription max this game, you will be paying a lot of money no doubt, but you don't really NEED every skin or mon on the roster to play. The player who plays every single mon frequently enough to feel the FOMO is far and few between. My idea at least appeals to the structure they will claim they need to justify keeping the lights on while simultaneously offering players a way to get the stuff they really want with time, at the minimum my idea is something I think could actually be implemented vs your idea that everything new should be obtainable for free currency right out of the gate.

You're misunderstanding me.
I am saying to let them all be earnable. I agree with you. I just don't think it's right or fair to have releases exclusively for paid players for an entire year before it's available to be earned!
The current new Pokemon release licenses ARE BOTH and people DO buy it as is evident from ranked gameplay where there are new Pokemon playing IN RANKED the same day as the release (in case you didn't know, you have to have the actual license, not a trial license, to use a Pokemon in ranked. The only way to get that the day it is released is to buy it with gems).
Don't change that.
We all both F2P and P2P get an opportunity to earn/buy at the start. Why make the F2P WAIT AN ENTIRE YEAR?!
And if you're talking holowear that is currently unobtainable because they were past battle passes and they haven't rereleased them through the must-pay-for-it-only treasure boxes... Yes! Those definitely need to be earnable. Just the year wait, that you suggested, to earn them seems extreme. Not everyone has been playing as long as you and to make us newer players wait... well many might lose interest or come and go only for events (I have "friends" like that as is evident by the majority of returning players at the start of events).
The company would have more people playing if the holowear and other items were earnable by number of matches/wins/missions like they do with the other events. Same if they did so with license points, make those earnable per match too like the gold coins were.
