Hmmm other nuts, beans, lentils, provide protein too. I live in an area where you have great growing seasons year-round (agg is big here), plus indoor setups would help.
I see the bigger problem as the pollination issue. No insects. That means a lot of extra work during a small window for each growing cycle.
That's also why we'd scavenge for trail mixes, jerky, MREs, canned, and dried food stuffs. Lots of protein in those. Build up a stockpile. Many varieties of the above mentioned have a long stable shelf-life. We could survive on those items until or between harvests. Plus we'd jar, can, dehydrate, vacuum seal as much as we could immediately and then after our harvests.

And since there are multiple, it's infinite. Unless you're unlucky and they can't breed.

Ugh, no bugs...
How are we going to compost our plant waste without organisms to break it down? No earthworms either 🥺.
