I'm finally going to beat Cynthia!

Cynthia catches people off guard because if you manage to get through the Elite Four(who all have a particular Type), you generally come in under-leveled for Cynthia's relatively balanced team. Her ace is the regional Pseudo and is competively a top three Dragon(if not number 1) due to its Speed and Offensive attack stat that with a single Swords Dance can sweep a team that can't outspeed it. Most Ice Types can't so if you let it set-up, you're cooked. Yet it's not just her Ace that gives people problems. She leads with a Bulky Dark/Ghost type that had no weakness in Gen 4(does now with Fairy), a Special Wall with Milotic(and BDSP makes it better with Flame Orb), the best Grass type in Roserade(which can hurt Fairies), the best Fighting type bar none in Lucario(which is Special based as opposed to Physical and gives Fairies issues), and Bulky Gastrodon.

Her Platinum team swaps Gastrodon out for Togekiss(and we all know how strong that one is with Serena Grace) and in BDSP specifically, her 2nd rematch team dumps Roserade for Porygon-Z and has a level 88 Garchomp(which again is no joke).

If you're of similar level as she is, you have a better than 50/50 chance to beat her but if you come in under-leveled(which was the case in Gen 4 with no XP share), you will be sent packing. BDSP made it that much harder because her team is literally meant for competitive play(EV trained, ideal natures, held items, the whole package). Also her Garchomp in DP is 66, Platinum it's 62, so they somewhat nerfed her team a bit level wise but not in BDSP.
