Feedbacks about overall balance philosophy

This topic is not about balancing op pokemon or not, it's about the philosophy of the game.

Remember that it's my oppinion (and feedback from players I talked with), not the absolute truth.

  • The first issue it the power creep. Each patch a lot of pokemons are buffed and only a few are nerfed. The result is, overall pokemons are stronger and stronger which is a big issue because it creates frustrating situations with absurdly strong pokemons.
  • The second issue is healing. There is WAY TOO MUCH healing in the game. Any healing support can bring back his team full life way too quick. So a healer is mandatory in every single team which is an issue because every supports that is not a healer cannot have enough value. Moreover, the healer playstyle is the most hated in the game because it's a bit borring to play and very frustrating to face. Too much healing allows people to make missplays and not be punished for this.
  • Last but not least, Crowd controls. There is way too many crowd controls in the game. Defenders have a lot of CCs which if fine because that is what they do. The issue is every single other roles have just as mush CCs. Attackers, all rounders and speedsters should have only a few CCs because they already have big damages. This leads to very frustrating situations where it is impossible to move for way too long.

I agree! A few all-rounders have self-healing, which can take away some of the value of defenders/supporters.
