PTCGL Dev Appreciation Post

PTCGL gets a lot of flak for its bugs and issues but I’ve been with it almost since the beginning and it is miles better than it used to be. There’s regular progress on the bug squashing front and the experience is more user friendly. Also, fewer bugs are introduced upon set drops, and any bugs that are introduced are far less serious. The bugs I do encounter are almost entirely ones that were already there. The currency is generously given out so that with a little bit of time put in, anyone can play any deck they want. There’s also rotating and permanent modes that admittedly are a bit hit or miss but still are appreciated.

I’m gonna say it: in some ways PTCGL is a more robust experience than PTCGO now. It’s amazing how far it’s come since launch. I hope in the future we get full Expanded, perhaps even Unlimited, and GLC as a permanent mode. There might be disappointment along the way but even so, I can’t wait to see where it goes from here. Thanks for the progress, devs!

Couldn't disagree more… after all this time TCG Live still has many unplayable bugs, way fewer game modes/formats and the gameplay is still slow and depressing. They have improved many things since launch, but it's to little to late... many players have already left.

And you are comparing it with an old outdated TCG Online. Even tho it was outdated by the time it was popular, TCG Online barely had bugs, and when one was found it was fixed very fast, there was a huge trading feature (you know it's the TRADING Card Game), tournaments, special events, a leaderboard, four official playing formats and the gameplay was fluid and enjoyable.

The biggest disadvantages of TCG Online were that it was extremely hard for new players and even for long time players, many cards were hard to get, some high rarity cards were close to impossible to obtain. Also, the mobile app was terrible... these are the only two things where TCG Live is significantly better... the mobile app is playable and it's easy to get cards, I dare to say even too easy.
