What Qualities do you look for in your favorite Pokemon?

I'm curious- what traits do you look for in your favorite Pokemon, or what is a common theme you notice?

For me, I like Pokemon that are "elegant" in a way, or that I've had fun experiences with. Or they're my favorite types- Water and Flying.

What usually grabs my attention is the ability to float and glide through the air. Geodude, Misdreavus, Claydol, Rotom, Whimsicott, Carbink, Comfey, Calyrex, Flittle….

I hear what you mean about the “fun experiences” part. Thoughts like “I remember your face appearing on a stylish TCG card” or “I remember when we partnered up in another game” happen from time to time.

Mine are powerhouses with cool color schemes.

The qualities I look for is whether or not it's cool, or whether or not it has a good color scheme or Shiny color scheme. Or in anime, they have an enjoyable personality or they had a good card design in the trading card game.

@Funboy35 Drapion's kind of a fun example for me- I saw Paul's in the anime as a kid and then when encountering one in Ultra Sun, I caught it. Then I used it in the battle tree and it was pretty good.
