What is the best ds pokemon game
I'm getting a ds and want to know what Pokemon game to get as well.

Pokemon Black and White or Pokemon Platinum (These are just my opinions)

B2W2, if for no other reason then that I am assuming you have a 3DS and so that would mean this is the only option that would allow you to transfer your pokemon to newer generations. It's a solid game all around too.
Alternatively, you could go with HGSS. Plenty of fun to be had there as these games are jampacked with content. Platinum I would pass on due to the existence of the nearly identical BDSP which also has direct connectivity to Pokemon Home.

The DS era was the peak of Pokémon. Platinum, Heart Gold or Soul Silver, Black and Black 2 or White and White 2 are all worth playing.

I haven't played any DS era games in a while but I've started replaying Black recently and so far it's as good as I remember.

There are people who think that the DS and Wii are retro consoles. There are people who do not know there was a DS before it gained the 3.
