Meowth Ex - why is it so popular?
I’m a relatively inexperienced player here - but in my 40-50 casual + ranked TCG Live matches this week - I’ve noticed something …
… the Meowth Ex card is used by a LOT of players (+10 of those matches) and I haven’t yet understood ‘why’. Am confused.
- sure when you add the card onto the bench, it allows you a one-time only ability to pick a supporter card. But that’s not a huge gain - right?
- otherwise Meowth has decent 170 HP as a basic Pokémon …
- … but a terrible 60 HP move which requires a relatively huge 3 energy - I don’t see people using this move.
Question - what am I missing - what’s the benefit of using one / multiple Meowth Ex? How useful is it to pick a supporter card from your hand?!

its to pick up a usefull suporter such as lily's determination or bosses order

However, Team Rocket's Watchtower prevents Meowth from using Last-Ditch Catch. So be sure to discard that Team Rocket's Stadium before playing Meowth.

It acts like Lumineon V, it ensures consistency by finding key Supporters... some even use two copies indeed... because that’s very powerful and will win you games.
Also, if your deck allows it, you can even reuse it or remove it from play before it becomes an easy knockout target.

It was very funny seeing a Dragapult EX player put down Team Rocket's Watchtower in order to stop my Dudunsparce draw-engine. Only to several turns later play down Meowth EX for nothing, and then lose to my bossing it.
