i had recently wrote a story a short comedy. there was teen people compeating in the contest. i made mine and finished it then turned it in and i came in secound place. i dont know what to say to them…they asked me to… but what do i do? 😢sorry for the crying emojies, but i am really getting teary eyed thinking about this). they offered me to compeate in the secound round against five people. but half of my friends wont talk to me anymore more because they say "all you care about is writting books, go out to parties, break some of the rules for ounce!" but i just dont know. anything yall have to say please do i cant think about it anymore.🫥

First of all, those aren't real friends

If they are trying to stop you from writing, something that you love and enjoy, to go party, something they want, then they don't have your best interest at heart

They should be supporting you and happy at what you're achieving!

Shoot, I'm a random stranger on the internet and I'm proud of you!

That's a huge accomplishment!

I cannot make this decision for you, but let me ask you this:

Which do you prefer?

Not what the teachers want

Not what your friends want

What is it that you want?

If you enjoy writing, then enter this second competition!

If you don't actually enjoy writing, then maybe go to that party

However, I would advise not to break any rules

Don't let them peer pressure you into doing something you'll regret

And if they say "But everyone is doing it" that's a fallacy called "Band Wagon"

But here's what you have to remember

You are not everyone

You are you and you do what is best for you

Honestly, my advise is this:

Do what you personally want, and if that ends up being writing and your friends ditch you, they were never friends and you need to find some better people that will support you

@crayZender I 100% agree with what @Hades0918 said. My sentiments exactly. (Only my typing it out would have ended up rambling off topic about who knows what, so thankfully Hades speaks/types much better than I)
