https://community.pokemon.com/en-us/discussion/comment/14943#Comment_14943Buying codes from third-party sellers isn't a violation. On PTCGO, buying and selling digital items was against ToS, but they can't ban you from buying or selling code cards because it's a physical product. The rule was in place to prevent kids from being scammed, which I imagine is part of why trading is gone from Live altogether.

@TheJeffers I use to play MTG for and long time and i know people use to leave behind codes for MTGO all the time and i am sure people do that for PTCG but it is also a ton of extra work and honestly an unreasonable expectation for people to buy a bunch of stuff and then expect them to sell it or to expect people to randomly walk into a game store in hopes that someone is just giving away codes.

The real answer here is just a slight increase in the amount of currency given as rewards or to make prices cheaper in the store or increase how often rewards are given. Or likely some combination of all three that results in a more balanced game.

Live is a fairly new game and i am sure they will get to a point that is more balanced and fair to the entire player base but that can only happen if the play base makes them aware of their concerns.

While i appreciate the thought of a temp solution it ultimately doesnt resolve the real issue of the game being unplayable to those that dont play the physical game.

We do NOT want Microtransactions in the game

@werenanook I understand. I played MTGO and Arena at different times. Arena wasn't too bad in the early days and was fairly generous with its rewards, but that quickly changed and it started to feel more like a chore or a second job grinding missions.

Digital clients always have a careful balancing act to manage when it comes to their economies. At least when buying physical products they can't shut down the server on you and eliminate your entire collection.

I am sure the Live economy can be tweaked and balanced to the point where it becomes reasonable.

@DefHalan Then you need to accept that we're never going to get a client that can compete with the ones that have IAPs. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

That is fine by me. PTCGO was good without microtransactions. PTCGL can be good without them. Besides, microtransactions take focus away from the game and more on what is being sold. Personally, I would rather the game be good than be able to pay for different looking boards
