Should Ash have been retired sooner?
As much as we like Ash, every character has limits when it comes to how long they can grow and stay relevant. Nowadays, we're finally saying goodbye to Ash as Liko and Roy take center stage.
Does anyone think they could have done the torch-passing sooner? I heard that they were originally going to replace him for the Black and White season, but they had no faith in the new main character.

Ash could've been retired at the end of XY, but now was probably the better time to do it.

I dont know about retiring him sooner but they should have allowed him to grow up some. the idea that he went through all of these journeys and became the world champion in less than a year is hard to accept.

No way! Ash's journey is far from over. Best not to Retire Ash yet.

I dunno but now is a good time. I wouldn’t mind if they kept him longer but also I support retiring him.

Although I would really have loved to see him interact with Nemona. That’s the only reason to keep him for Horizons maybe.

I will only retire Ash after he went through 2 more regions of my design.
