Prologue: Arceus' Quest

(Before I begin I would like to let you all know that this is a DnD story. I will be using DnD rules for most things. I will bend the rules sometimes (usually for plot) but almost all of this will use DnD mechanics. For example, the flow and outcome of combat is determined by dice roll. Also, a rule break here, all characters start at level 2 for this.)

In a hidden location deep within a forest, our adventurers meet up at the cabin each were told to go.

"Hello, fellow Pokémon," the Charcadet says as she arrives at the cabin, where an Absol and Yamper are already waiting. "I am Violet, a humble server of Yveltal here at his command. Who might you be?"

"Hi! I'm Jerry! I am a Paladin that has been blessed to work for Arceus themself," the Yamper exclaims excitedly, seeming to be bursting with energy.

"Ha! You two work for gods? That's pathetic," the Absol states with a smirk of cruel amusement. He then takes a step forward, the sunlight hitting his unusual red gem in his horn and blue metal claws in a way that makes him glow. "I am a god! My name is Sol. Don't forget it, mortals!"

"You're a god," Violet questions as she scrutinizes him intensely. "You don't seem like any god I've ever met…"

"Excuse me," Sol demands dramatically, very much so offended.

"Yeah, you seem a lot weaker," Jerry adds, only fueling the Absol's rage.

"If you continue disrespecting me, then I'll-" Sol's threat is cut off by a sudden clatter inside the cabin. All three freeze and turn to peek through the building's window. It is dusty and dark inside, but they can make out something small and green inside, rummaging through the bags on the table.

"There's a thief," Jerry exclaims in a whisper.

"Thanks a lot, Captain Obvious," Sol hisses back.

"Well, what do we do about them," Violet asks as quietly as possible.

"We attack them," a voice responds from behind them. Everyone shouts in surprise and jumps around to see a random Chimchar standing there.

"Who are you," the dog demands.

"The solution to our thief problem," he answers. "I'm Zane. Now watch as I handle this guy!"

Zane takes a few steps back and then screams as he charges head first at the door. As he rams into it, the door doesn't budge, causing a loud thud and for the monkey to fall to the ground, whimpering in pain.

"Wow, great job," Sol tells him sarcastically. "You really handled that like a champ!"

"Shut up," Zane mutters as he gets off up and rubs his head.

The mysterious robber used the chaos to try to escape, but tripped climbing out the back window, where Violet was waiting. "Busted," the Charcadet states, grabbing the hooded thief's cloak and dragging them to the others. "Hey guys, look who I found."

"All thanks to me," Zane says with a prideful smile. Everyone rolls their eyes but doesn't correct him, instead turning their attention to the culprit. Violet grabs their hood and pulls it off, revealing a Sprigatito with a scar across their right eye and a golden fang in their mouth.

"That's the wanted criminal Catsuki," Sol exclaims, reaching into his bag and pulling out a wanted poster of the cat. "They're worth 10,000 Poke in some towns!"

"Ah, so you're a fan," Catsuki says with a wide smile.

"Not of you but the money I could make from turning you in," the Absol responds, and the cat immediately loses their smile.

"H-Hey, let's not go jumping to decisions like that," the Sprigatito states with panic. "I-I could be a very valuable asset!"

"INDEED THEY COULD," a voice booms from within the cabin. There is a bright golden flash and Arceus appears inside, staring at the group. "Come inside and I'll explain why most of you are here."

The five listen and enter the cabin, each taking a seat at the table. "I already know why I'm here," Sol tells them as soon as they are all seated. "My godly subconscious told me to come here."

Arceus chuckles at this but says nothing. "Alright. Anyone else know why they are here," the creator of the world asks.

"Yveltal told me to come," Violet answers. "I, of course, obeyed."

"You sent me a vision of this location," Jerry says happily, Arceus nodding at him.

"I beat up a random dude and found a note in his pocket to come here," Zane states as he leans back in his chair and puts his feet on the table (much to Arceus' obvious dismay). "Curious, I came to check the place out."

"I was simply passing by and wondered what the inside was like," Catsuki lies with a charming smile. Everyone rolls their eyes.

"Okay, so while you are all correct, except you Catsuki," Arceus says, shooting the cat a glare for lying, "I meant the reason you were sent here by your sources. So I can't explain Catsuki or Zane, they were unexpected, but the rest of you are here to go on a quest."

"What kind of quest," Jerry inquires with much interest.

"I'm getting to that," the Mythical replies. "So, there is an unknown Pokémon going around and fusing ordinary Pokémon with Mythicals and Legendaries. I don't know why or how they are doing this, but I do know it needs stopped."

"So why did you choose us," Violet asks.

"Well, I heard that you are one of Yveltal's greatest pupils, Jerry is my best follower, Sol has direct ties to the villain, and as I said before I didn't expect the other two," Arceus answers.

"Wait, how do I have direct ties," Sol questions, confused on what Arceus is talking about.

"I cannot tell you right now, but you will understand in the future," the Mythical responds, answering absolutely nothing. "Anyways, all I need to know is if you accept."

"For Yveltal, I shall," Violet says, bowing her head.

"I'm in," Jerry answers happily.

"As a fellow god, I understand the pains of trying to find good help. You made the right choice coming to me. I accept this quest," Sol replies.

"I've got nothing better to do, so why not," Catsuki says with a shrug.

"Only if there will be violence," Zane demands.

"Oh, there will be much violence," Arceus promises.

"Then let's do this," the monkey states with a wide, manic smile.

"Good. I will give each of you basic supplies and 25 Poke," the creator of the universe tells them. "I wish you luck on your journey and will help when I can."
