Graphics on recent Pokémon games are fine in my book. It does struggle at times but I attribute it to the internal hardware on Switch being stretched to its limit. Nintendo opted for Maxwell(900 series for GPU’s) when the infamous Pascal line(aka 1000 series that included the 1080 and 1080Ti) had been out for a year for Switch 1. They cheaped out again on Switch 2 with Ampere(3000 series) when Lovelace(4000 series) was already out and Blackwell (5000 series) was in the works. Switch 2’s design did incorporate some Lovelace enhancements but at its core it’s an Ampere SOC(System on Chip). Basically, you can only optimize a game so much. At some point you have to point at the internal hardware as to why a game performs poorly or struggles at certain spots.
As for the good old days… I miss being able to explore towns and talk to NPC’s all over the place. Compare that to the present with all the detail being placed on the landscape but no way to explore the various towns/buildings. Like I give a royal damn about the landscape. I mean Levincia has one banger of a city theme with all those buildings and I can’t explore any of them. I’d love to go inside Katy’s Bakery in Cortondo but nope… can’t do that. What about Kofu’s Restaurant… nope.
I mean outside of Nemona’s house… that’s the only instance of being able to explore/talk to NPC’s.
Also… Jesse&James in Yellow version are better than LGPE and I’ll die on that hill if I have to.

I've personally never played S/V, I was just not willing to pay the price for it. However, SOME of the new mons are amazing (it was a very hot and cold selection of mons, with great first-stage starters and some of my personal fav mons like Lokix, Chien-Pao and the box legends, but then we have stuff like Espathra, Bombirdier and Spidops which I PERSONALLY don't like. It's ok if you like them, everyone can have their own opinions.) and the story is really good for an official Pokemon game. I have heard it's incredibly laggy and buggy though.
