I think SGC/HGSS or BW/BW2 have the best sound tracks in the main line series, if you cant pick a single game what song from any of the games is your favorite!

    For mainline, BW2 as it jive with the guitar in those games.

    For best in general, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. There is not a single song trying to be a song in that game that is bad.

    My personal favorites include

    XD Gale of Darkness: Cypher Peon Battle, Colosseum Battle 2, Battle SIM

    ORAS: Credits, Zinnia

    XY: Jubilife City, An Unwavering Heart

    Scarlet Violet: that song by Ed Sheeran💀, Academy Tourney (9 minutes wow), Montenevera Gym Full theme, Iono Livestream

    All of the Area Zero music sounds like it's from a different game, in a good way. It reminds me of Hiroyuki Sawano. It's all great except Zero Lab which does not fit the the sound of the rest of the Area Zero music at all.

    DPPt > GSC > BW/B2W2 > RSE > HGSS > FRLG.

    That is my personal ranking. The rest I never really cared for too much, but there isn't a single bad Pokémon OST.

    The ost that comes to my mind as some of the best has to be "N^N"/Final Battle N remix, Cynthia's battle theme, and the final boss of scarlet and violet, they're just 👌

    BW/BW2, Pokemon Colosseum and Scarlet and Violet have pretty nice soundtracks.

    I know they're more recent entries but I feel like ever since galar the music in the series really picked up, paldea was alright too but for me galar was just amazing OST-wise and in general too



    My opinions are based ok
