I'll comment my new thoughts later, but I just searched a little and found out that the Froakie line is in this game while Fennekin's isn't. This genuinely shoots the game down from a 9/10 to a 6/10 to me. I'm not even joking, I was really looking forward to finding one, and I'd be OK if it weren't there, but Froakie's presence (in a pretty easy to make habitat) while Fennekin is completely absent really just proves what I've been saying about them.
I have noticed that only one starter line from each non-Kanto gen is there, but it still hurts. Would adding just 16 more beloved Pokémon and their evolutions be too much? Must they only pick the most overrated one from every gen?

that's one of my complaints in Pokémon in general,
they always only choose the overrated Pokémon to put in games and give new forms and give buffs to, while the better but less popular Pokémon get left out, Kinda like Nintendo and their franchises

As if the Delphoxite being online-exclusive wasn't enough. At least I'd eventually get Fennekin that way, even if I know there's no way we're getting it early, whether due to other starters being more popular or the chance that they'll choose to do it from oldest to newest (the Fennekin line would be the 11th or 12th event if they do it that way, likely the 11th since the Chespin line is even less popular. I doubt they'll add all the starters at once for an event. If they add one event every month, Fennekin would happen during March at the earliest in this case.)
Regardless of which kind of event the missing starters are added in, I know I won't be able to wait to go get Fennekin on its debut after beating my second playthrough of WW.
