If I have three boomerang energy on my Tera Pikachu, can I discard them and get all three back as my "Discard three energy from this pokemon"? Probably a dumb question but I had to ask.

    No because the boomerang energy is normal type and tera pikachu needs 1 metal 1 grass and 1 lightning energy

    Yes, but only if you also have the required [L][G][M] energies (to meet the attack cost) plus 3 Boomerang Energies attached, you can choose to discard only the 3 Boomerang Energies to satisfy the attack's effect.

    Then after the attack is finished, each Boomerang Energy triggers its own effect to reattach itself from the discard pile.
