I'm glad that they fixed those problems in new games,
the old games had much more limitations,
they were probably too lazy to add online that not every single persons going to use,
and if there was online trading you still can't complete the dex,
The old games are more greedier then the new ones! but only people complain the new games because,
"Oh, they're part of my childhood" That doesn't make them better they're worse! the original FRLG where 70$ each plus you needed a linking cord to trade, and you need both games two Gameboys, other games, to complete the dex.
The old games where weird.

Old games weren’t weird but rather were limited by the hardware at the time. Wireless communication that we take for granted today didn’t exist back then and if it did, it was extremely limited due to being in its infancy. That meant to communicate device to device meant connecting them with a cable, aka Link Cables on the Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance(GBA’s was different though I think so you couldn’t trade from Gen or Gen 2 to Gen 3 I think). I think the DS/3DS was the first hardware that Nintendo had that could communicate wirelessly but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on that.
Also yeah $20 for an old game is indeed greed, particularly if they do nothing to update the darn thing. They’d be better off throwing it, along with Red/Blue/Yellow + Gold/Silver/Crystal + Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald on Nintendo Online because as it is now on the Switch, you can’t trade for version exclusives or do trade evolutions unless you are lucky to have people you know with the other version. They wouldn’t even need to do HOME compatibility and for what purpose if it’s only going to be one way. Even if they release Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald later, there is still the issue with trading where only those with people nearby who will be able to get Umbreon and Espeon. They’ll also charge $20 for the privilege and I’m like.. smh.

Online was literally impossible for the GBA. They added it in the first Pokémon game for the DS when it became possible (and we didn't need to pay for a subscription before the Switch). I know it's frustrating that people compliment the old games excessively and ignore their flaws and are blinded by nostalgia and a "nostalgic is good, new is bad" mentality (Trubbish and Vanillite got a lot of unfair hate back when BW was new and disliked the game for being a soft reset. The funniest part is that Grimer and Koffing are worse and also that the BW are considered one of or sometimes the best nowadays) (also, did you know there was a controversy like SwSh's National Dex removal's when Ruby/Sapphire came out because you couldn't transfer from the GB/GBC to GBA like from GB/GBC to GBC and not all Pokémon were available? That's why FRLG were made so soon after RGBY. All people talk say now is that gen 3 were fun games and that they were harder than the newer games) and they constantly insult anything new for usually stupid reasons (sometimes reasonable ones like SV being rushed and Z-A's DLC being ridiculously overpriced and horrible in almost every way and FRLG being overpriced for a game that's been out for over 20 years and lacking anything to justify that price. Also, they could have added online trades because while the GBA was a less advanced console made in the very early 2000s and could not connect to the internet, the Switch very easily can), but that doesn't mean you have to retaliate by insulting the older games people like with wrong assumptions and ignorance.

Technically putting it on nso is more greedy, it costs more for nso
And when the switch servers shut down the rerelease would be lost media
Also it’s just easier to play without having to go in nso every time
I also like the rerelease ui more then nso

It’s funny the original FRLG price was 70$ and people complain about the rereleases price. If the rerelease was 1$ people would still complain
0 -
No they wouldn't. These are games over 20 years old. Red and Blue were only 10$ when they were newer than that and there's a lot less complaints about them.

Yeh because it’s red and blue they are worse games that’s why they are ten dollars
That’s like if Nintendo in the future rerelease the original Mario bros and Mario wonder
Mario bros for 20$
Wonder for 40$
Wonder would be more expensive because it’s a much better game and had a bigger budget

The budget doesn't matter if the game's over 20 years old. Also, there was not nearly as much of an improvement between RGBY and FRLG (8 years apart, both on a GB system) as Mario Bros. and Wonder (around 40 years apart with a whole world of difference in content and capability of the system). Also, the original Mario Bros. for 20$ would be a ridiculously overpriced ripoff that no one would buy when it's so recently been sold for 5$ on the 3DS eShop (which was discussed so little I spent too long making sure it was correct information) (and it can be bought for 8$ on the Switch and yes I did find people complaining about the price increase) and is available for free with multiple games and also with a no expansion pass online subscription.

Yeh but if Mario bros is 5$ on Nintendo future console i think wonder’d be more expensive than that, I’m not saying it should, I’m not saying it shouldn’t, I’m just saying that is probably what will happen

FRLG are essentially a carbon copy of Red/Blue but with an expanded post-game. They both battle the same trainers and both versions have similar version exclusives with respect to the original 151. The only difference is Mankey(Red) is available on both versions alongside Meowth(Blue) and were replaced by Psyduck(FR) and Shellder(FR) to Slowpoke(LG) and Staryu(LG). Additional differences inckude version exclusives for Gen 2 + 3 Pokémon in the postgame(only advantage being they(FRLG) came out later and wouldn’t have been required had GBA had the means to communicate with Gen 1 and 2), the Special stat split(which weakened a lot of Pokémon, including Gyarados and Ninetales while notably buffing the snot out of Charizard), the addition of the Dark and Steel type(which doesn’t really matter much given there are no Dark types in Kanto Dex and only one Steel type exists to where it may not have much impact, if at all. If you include Steelix and Scizor, then it’s three but Metal Coat is probably a post-game item given they were Gen 2 additions and they’re Trade Evolutions so good luck on that…), Abilities(and not to the degree they are today), increased movepool(which is a net positive I guess but again benefits from coming out later to fix issues with Bug, Ghost and Fighting types) and more TM’s(notably Return and Flamethrower for Ponyta, which is arguably the biggest perk I can note).
Is all of that worth $20 with no Online Trading? Heck no and Nintendo Online is ~$3/month and ~$4 with Expansion pack and permits playing classic games solo or with other people(if possible) along with Online access for Switch titles. Was online access for Pokémon free in the past? Yes it was but the Switch has been out for 9 years now and if they can’t adapt old games for online communication then either spend the time to adapt it BDSP style or simply relegate it to NO where it belongs. Releasing it on the Switch as it is now is a slap in the face to anyone who knows better.
Also for the record: Mario Brothers is better than you think it is. Budget isn’t everything.
