Well at least that is somewhat decent, but still not worth 20 bucks. 12 bucks would make sense.

Yeh but they probably want a even price like a number that is smooth or something but probably not cause that means it could’ve been 10$

Talking about the originals being $70 is just obfuscation. No one purchased FRLG in 2004 thinking what their money would be worth in 2026. They paid $40 (or £30 in my case). That was it. Equally, no one is spending $20 today thinking "oh boy, this is only $10 in 2004 money. What a steal!"
And yes, inflation is a thing and worth considering when evaluating value, but let's not pretend that anyone beyond the most dedicated of shills with the brownest of noses would claim that $70 for an unmodified port of 20 year old GBA games is reasonable.
If it were, Nintendo would be charging $100.
More important than the raw dollar amount is value for money. Provided they are not starving and on the verge of homelessness, most people are willing to pay premium prices for what they perceive to be quality goods with lots of added utility and value.
If Game Freak had gone all out, adding new features and game modes, new content, maybe even going as far as reworking the game to include Fairy types and the physical-special split, $20 would probably be more than reasonable to most people.
They did a lot of work and offer a brand new (official) way to experience Kanto.
Instead they are selling you the same experience from 2004 and expecting you to pay $20 for it. For what?
I can play it on my Switch and transfer directly to Home (at some point. How can that not be a day one feature?!)? Okay, that's not nothing. That represents some value.
But the same thing was much cheaper when they did it for gens 1 and 2 on the 3DS. It represents the same (or at least similar) work, but now it's worth twice as much. Why?

10$ makes the most sense for this kind of release, as its an e-shop virtual console release and would be consistent with previous pricings INCLUDING past mark ups for mainline pokemon games.
