Split bomb gets around battle cage?

today I lost because I had battle cage out but split bomb from mega eelektross ex killed my benched Pokemon while battle cage was out. That’s a bug correct?

  The battle cage prevents damage counters. mage elecktros ex's atack does damage to the bench not damage counters.

  Yup. Eelektross is my main attacker. I LOVE its versatility.
