    that means once your character gets to a certain level the power of your moves will increase if your roll an 8 on any of those dice you get to roll an additional d8 so if you are at a high enough level where you can roll 3d8 if you roll an 8 on a single dice you get to roll another dice meaning in that scenario if that new dice does not roll another 8 you basically rolled 4d8

    @Dragonfly102024

    Would you be interested in joining our DND?

    Every Saturday at 6 PM UTC for 1-2 and a half hours

    You seem like someone that enjoys roleplay (but I might be wrong)

    So just to clarify… you roll a D8. If its an 8, you roll another D8 and add it to your initial roll. If the 2nd D8 is an 8, roll another to a maximum of 3D8 + initial 1D8. When the Cantrip upgrades, initial D8 roll becomes 2D8, 3D8 etc. If any of those D8's roll an 8, you roll bonus D8 like above up to w/e your spellcasting modifier happens to be(which should still be +3 or will that change at higher levels)? Also does Proficiency impact this at some point?

    oooooh no the additional dice can be up to your spellcasting ability modifier so right now the max dice you can roll is 4d8 (with extreme luck) when the power gets boosted the max will increase to 5d8

    @Hades0918 , I actually love rp video games (final fantasy, elder scrolls, dragon age, suikoden, zelda, etc.) and used to read all my brothers old "choose your own adventure" books as kids, however never actually played live d&d. Not quite sure how. Let me calculate the times and see if that would fit into the schedule here. Do I need to have my own dice or does the dm do the rolling? I'm seriously thinking about it.

    So the spell upgrades at level 5, 11 and 17 if memory serves. That means, for now, I'm limited to 1D8 + 1D8 up to a maximum of 3D8 if I roll 8 on the first two bonus rolls that result in a max damage of 32(8 + 24 if I get insanely lucky). Then at level 5, it can go as high as 40(1D8 + 4D8 bonus), 48 at level 11(1D8 + 5D8) and 56 at level 17(1D8 + 6D8). The odds of me EVER being that lucky are all but zero. The day I roll a max damage Sorcerous Burst is the day I make a reservation for Las Vegas…
