"Help me," the Gardevoir cries from the top of the one hundred story tower she's locked in. I run to the base of it, the blades on my arms fully extended.

"Never fear, Your Majesty," I holler to her. "I'll save you!"

I begin doing a few squats. A true hero knows that before anything they need to stretch. Once all warmed up I crouch down, pushing off the ground as I come up and reaching the top of the tower in a single leap. I do a flip as I land in front of the princess on the balcony.

"Don't worry," I say with a confident smile. "I'm here."

"Oh, thank you," she exclaims, hugging me tightly.

"You're not going anywhere with her," a voice booms. I look behind me and see a Dragonite flying at me with a Wing Attack.

"Oh, really," I say with a smirk. Right as he's about to hit me, I twist out the way, winking at the princess in the process. Then, I lunge at the off-balanced Dragonite and ram my fist into its chin with an Ice Punch uppercut, knocking it out in a single strike.

"My hero," Gardevoir exclaims, rushing into my arms. "What is your name, my savior?"

I begin to answer, but I'm interrupted by my mother's voice. "LANCE! WHY AREN'T THE DISHES DONE!?"

I'm awakened from my dream, sighing with disappointment. "Because I was asleep," I shout back.

"It's 11:45 AM," she yells. "You should have been up and working hours ago!"

I groan, rolling out of bed. I wish I could go back to sleep, continuing my wonderful dream of being a hero. But instead I have to stay awake with the reality of being stuck in a lower class family where I'm forced to work for my parents to barely keep us above broke.

I slowly make my way downstairs, where my parents are. Both are Gardevoirs and my dad is working at the front desk while my mom is working on the dishes. "I'm here to do those," I tell her. She glares at me.

"They should have already been done," she tells me with an attitude. "Go help your sister bake more cakes. And maybe pay attention to her. She's good at actually doing what she should!"

It takes all I have not to roll my eyes. "Alright, mom," I respond with a bland tone. I go over to the Kirlia at the counter.

"Hey, bro," she says as I approach.

"Hey," I reply. "What do you need help baking?"

My sister looks around. "I don't really need help," she tells me.

"Yeah, well, mom is making me help you," I state. "So just give me something random."

She sighs, looking around again. "I don't know... Use your blades to slice the cakes for display, I guess."

I nod, going over to the pastries. I then use Slash, cutting them into triangles. Honestly, I don't even need to be doing this! My family can run this place just fine without me but instead keep me here to make me do useless work.

I could be out there adventuring! Being a hero! Saving damsels in distress! But, instead I'm stuck here, wasting my life. I'm about half way through all the display cakes when the front door bangs open, three of the Queen's Royal Guard standing there.

"Is Lance the Gallade here," the Machamp in the middle questions. I raise my hand.

"That would be me," I respond. All three of them look at me.

"The Queen requests your presence," the Lucario on the right informs me. Everybody in the store gasps.

"The Queen," my dad asks, gasping again when they nods yes. My mom grabs my shoulders and force me to look at her.

"Don't screw this up," she tells me.

P.O.V Change

I'm in the kitchen scrubbing the dishes. My parents, both Armarouges like me, walk in looking proud. "Thank you, Homare," my mom tells me. "You didn't have to do that, though."

"I don't mind," I say, finishing the last plate.

"We're so glad to have such an amazing child," my dad states. "Unlike your si-"

"DON'T," mom shouts, "mention her."

The room goes silent about the almost mention of my sister, Jasmine. We haven't heard from her since she chose to evolve into Ceruledge and my parents kicked her out. My parents are happier with her gone, but I still wish she would have done what everyone wanted and became an honorable Armarouge like I did.

There's a knock at the door. "I'll get it," I say, going to the entrance. When I open the door I'm greeted by two of the Queen's Royal Guards.

"Is Homare the Armarouge here," the Lopunny asks.

"That would be me," I answer. "Why?"

"The Queen requests your presence," the Infernape tells me. My eyes widen with surprise.

"Make us proud, son," my dad says. I give my parents a thumbs up before I leave with the guards, hoping this is the Queen asking me to join her army.

Time skip brought to you by the Queen's loyal peasant!

I arrive at the castle, a Gallade coming up right as I do. "Hello," I say with a friendly wave.

"Hi," he responds absently, not really interested in me. I guess that's a no to conversing. That doesn't mean I'll give it up.

"So what're you here for," I ask. The Gallade smirks at me confidently.

"The Queen wants to see me," he tells me, seeming to stand taller.

"Hey, that's awesome," I exclaim. "That's what I'm here for, too!"

Gallade looks at me with confusion. "You," he asks. "What would she want with you?"

"Well, I've attempted to be a guard in the past," I explain. "I got denied for some reason. Maybe this is them changing their answer."

Gallade seems to find this amusing. "I wouldn't want a scrawny Armarouge like you in the army, either."

Now I'm getting annoyed. "Oh, yeah? Why would the Queen want you."

The Gallade goes silent for a bit. "Same reason as you," he mutters reluctantly.

The front doors of the palace swings open. "The Queen will see you now," the Grimmsnarl Guard states. Me and Gallade follow it through the halls, eventually reaching a giant room.

The room is practically empty except for the giant chair in the back. In the throne is a Shiny Gardevoir that has a stern glare. A sparkling diamond crown is on her head. This is the Queen.

"Hello," she says, her voice booming through out the room. "I want to give y'all an opportunity."

GODS THIS TOOK FOREVER!!!

Three days!

This took me three days to write!

As I've said, I've been lacking motivating lately

My brain won't stop, though

I don't want to start too many stories, but I couldn't stop the thoughts

Thanks @Michael629303 for a question that inspired this

Also, I picture a Jack Sparrow voice for Lance

No clue why, but I do

So that leads to my question

What do you think each character sounds like?

As I introduce more characters, please tell me for them, too

@UnovanZorua and @fineasmatei

I'm pretty positive y'all will want tagged

Enjoy!
