The group get to the scene, surprised to see two Alpha Mega Raichus (one X one Y) attacking the city. The Y stays in the back, blasting everything with Thunderbolts while the X dashes around, crashing into things with Wild Charge. The four grab their PokéBalls, preparing to fight. Ange stands nearby, watching.

"You've got this," she cheers. The four nod and approach the two Megas. Weirdly, no barrier appears. However, the purple and black mist cover the ground, but actually doing anything. Just being.

The MZ Team notice this, too. "Where's the barrier," Taunie questions. Naveen shrugs.

"I don't know," he responds. "And where did this fog come from?"

Paxton shakes his head. "I don't know, but let's not focus on that. We need to save the Raichus and people around them!"

The other three grunt in agreement, all sending out their PokéBalls. Paxton sends out a Chesnaught, Taunie a Meganium, Naveen an Ariados, and Lida a Vanilluxe. The four get closer to the electric mice, which immediately accept them as a challenge.

Ange watches the mist with interest. It's thickest near the Rouge Megas' feet and seems to move away from the others. The situation just keeps getting weirder, Ange thinks. First the barrier changes and now it's just gone. And that mist...

It all just doesn't make sense. And above all else, the fact I didn't cause this means it shouldn't even be possible. She continues to watch the mist, which distractes her from the incoming Thunderbolt.

"Watch out," Taunie shouts. Ange looks up, just in time to see Taunie's Embour jump in front of her with Protect.

"Woah, thanks," Ange exclaims. Taunie smiles and gives a thumbs up right before narrowly dodging a Wild Charge..

"Let's attack the Y together," Paxton shouts. Ange turns her attention to them, seeing that Y is causing a lot of chaos, blasting Thunderbolts in random directions. The other three hum in agreement.

"Heat Crash!"

"Blizzard!"

"Wood Hammer!"

"Poison Jab!"

All four Pokémon charge in, ready to attack. Y seems completely unfazed. Out if nowhere, X rams into Ariados and Vanilluxe. Y then strikes Emboar with Electro Web. Only the Chesnaught's Wood Hammer lands.

Y tanks the hit and jumps back. X joins it and the two grab each other's hands and start rubbing cheeks. This builds up electricity, which they release in a couple giant Thunders. The four scatter, narrowly avoiding each bolt.

Naveen sends out a Sableye and Lida Clawitzer. Emboar returns to Taunie's side, Chesnaught joining Paxton. X is back to dashing around again, Y shooting random bolts from the back. This causes much stress for the team as they have a to avoid Wild Charges and Volt Tackled as well as Thunderbolts. And with Lida using a Water type, it gives her even more need to stress.

Ange goes back to watching the fog. As the X uses moves that damage it in recoil or get hit by an attack, the mist goes into it, seeming to heal any damage done. What is that stuff, Ange thinks. Some of it floats near her feet.

She contemplates for a second before reaching down and touching it. It's cold against her fingers and it gives off a feeling of ominous power. But she can also feel Mega Energy in it. The same one she uses. Well, used. As a tower.

She sits up straight again and sighs. That doesn't make sense, she thinks. I'm not using the Mega Energy anymore, so who or what is?

She sighs again. All these questions are making her brain hurt! She decides to think about that later and turns her attention back to the battle. Naveen is now using a Mega Scrafty, Lida has a Mega Starmie (wich is dodging all attacks with some impressive dance moves), Taunie is using Mega Meganium (so it didn't faint), and Paxton a Mega Malamar (odd choice).

Naveen is taking Y head on, forcing it to focus on him and Scrafty as they fight close range. Lida is annoying X by taunting it to come at her and then doing a spin to dodge and Starmie lands a hit. Taunie is a wild card, switching between hitting the mice with random distant Earthquakes or close up immediate Solar Beams. Paxton is staying in the back, Malamar using a ranged attack when one of the Raichus get close to hitting someone. Ange has to be honest, the team works perfectly with each other, really looking out for one another.

The Raichus are obviously getting tired of this. They back away from the MZ Team and grab each other, rubbing cheeks. They then release giant Thunders again, this time more and bigger. The team's humans dodge, but their Pokémon aren't so lucky. Mega Starmie and Mega Malamar faint and the other two are paralyzed.

Paxton and Lida return their Pokémon. Paxton sends out a Shiny Alpha Pumpkaboo that Ange vaguely remembers seeing from a Rouge Alpha Salamence she made a while back. Lida sends back an Emolga. Meganium and Scrafty flash as their Mega Evolution runs out of energy.

Things aren't looking up, Ange thinks with a sad sigh. The best thing they can do is retreat and let someone else take care of this.

However, even though this is the obvious best move, none of the four look like they have intentions of leaving. Ange doesn't understand why they're so dead set on saving everyone. Someone else could easily deal with the problem instead! The team starts attacking again, Taunie and Paxton on X and the other two on Y.

Ange immediately sees what they're doing. X fights up close, so Paxton is keeping his distance with Ranged Attacks and Taunie has close and long range moves, switching between them and making it harder for X to hit her. Lida's Emolga is only using ranged and Naveen is only using physical, making it hard for Y to have anywhere to go. Ange thinks the strategy is smart, but she knows it's not perfect. She used to make Rouge Megas. She knows they can find a way around it.

And sure enough they do. X leaves Taunie and Paxton to Volt Tackle Naveen and Lida. This allows Y to turn its attention to the couple, who it launches Thunderbolts at. They all dodge the attacks, but Scrafty gets hit, fainting. Naveen returns it sadly, switching out for a Krookodile (why didn't he start with that!?)

You can see it in the Raichus' faces that they're done playing around. They grab onto each other and start nuzzling to build up electricity, unleashing it all in giant bolts. Ange doesn't think they're even using Thunder, this time. Just shooting.

The four are barely dodging but still seem to be doing just fine. But then, Taunie trips. Not in the best spot, either. Right in the path of a bolt. Ange moves before she can think.

She leaps off the bench, summoning the Yveltal wings. She gets in front of Taunie and curls into a ball, the wings covering her. This protects her and the other girl from the blast. She then uncurls, her hand already flowered up and charged. She releases a giant purple beam that hits both Mega Mice.

The impact causes their Mega Evolution to shatter, ending the fight. Ange immediately crouches down to Taunie. "Are you hurt," she questions, filled with worry.

The pink haired girl shakes her head. "N-No," she responds. "I'm fine." Taunie looks at Ange's wings with awe. "You can do that?"

Ange already knew this, of course, but she's been keeping it a secret. She doesn't want it known she did, so she looks at herself and acts shocked. "I-I guess I can!"

"That was quite impressive," a female says. Ange turns around and sees a light skinned girl with short hair and purple eyes. She's wearing a body suit with a brown jacket over it. She's smiling at Ange widely (too wide, if you ask the heterochrom).

"Thanks," Ange responds slowly. "Who are you, exactly?"

"Oh, we haven't met," the woman says, her smile widening. "I'm Detective Emma from the Looker Bureau. And you are?"

Ange contemplates answering this for a second. Should she tell this lady who she is? She said she is a detective, which means that she would have no problem searching for a reason to take her down if she has any suspicion of her being the same Ange as the tower.

"This is Ange," Taunie replies for her. Ange forces a smile and nods. The heterochrom notices the way Emma's eyes briefly narrow on her before going back to normal.

"Nice to meet you, Ange," she says. "I just wanted to thank you for saving Taunie and let you know that if you ever need any help, just come over to the Looker Bureau and I can assist you."

Ange nods. "I'll keep that in mind."

Emma hums with satisfaction and runs off. I don't like her... Ange thinks, feeling that something is up with her.

"Where are we," Ange suddenly hears. She turns around and the Raichus are up and very confused.

"You're in the Vert District," Ange tells then, which cause much confusion between the two.

"But we live in the Magenta District," one of them tells her, the other nodding on agreement.

"I can take y'all back there," Ange says. The mice smile. "But could you quickly answer a question I have?"

"Sure," the two respond in sync.

"What have you that power," Ange asks. The two scrunch up their faces in thought.

"We're not entirely sure," one says.

"It was a white yet shadowy," the other continues. "It filled the area with this weird mist and everything after that is blank."

"Okay," Ange says. "Thanks for answering. Now let's get y'all home!"
