Pokémon EX vs Pokémon ex

Certain cards, for example 'Great Catcher' and 'Fairy Charm [Various]' list affecting Pokémon-GX and Pokémon-EX, and don't work on Pokémon-ex. Is this intended behavior, or should Pokémon-ex be affected by these cards?

    It's intended. There are 3 ex's eras:

    • Pokemon-ex (very old, during gen 3 and 4)
    • Pokemon-EX (old, during gen 5 and 6)
    • Pokemon ex (current, during gen 9)

    Even tho all 3 of them have the "ex" term, they are considered different, so all the effects, cards, etc. related to EX Pokemon don't apply to the ex Pokemon.
