Why is mega blaziken so OP?

so you're gonna tell me that dealing the same damage as mega gyarados for half the energy is even remotely balanced?!?!!

this card is so frustrating, how in the world does it only need 2 energy for 120+20 damage and a lasting burn?! if it would at least lose 2 energy or need 3 or have some other restriction then OK, but as is it will KO mega gyarados every time on a level playing field even though it's weak to it. these megas are honestly game-breaking. why on earth would i ever use a normal EX deck now? it makes almost every other card insignificant in a game where collecting and using different cards for different strategies is the entire purpose. power creep on a massive scale, makes battles nothing but frustrating. please balance these mega cards

ideas for balancing:

-only one mega per player per game

-make megas an evolution step above the last normal stage like in the rest of pokemon (eg. needing to play blaziken first, then mega blaziken)

-more balanced energy requirements

-higher weakness damage boost

-retreat cost higher than attack (makes you consider switching it in more carefully)

It's a top deck sure, but isn't that broken... are you forgetting how popular Suicune (water) decks are?

And as a Stage 2, Mega Blaziken ex faces some consistency issues, and even worse with Mega Rising and Chingling’s Jingly Noise shutting down Rare Candy. Also as a "Mega ex", losing it means losing the game outright.

losing it is barely even a consideration though when you only need two energy for 120 damage and only one energy to retreat. to put that into context, buzzwole es needs 3 energy for 120 damage and it can’t use that attack the next turn and it has a retreat cost of 2 and 140 health. dialga ex needs 4 energy for 100 damage. arcanine ex nees 3 damage for 120 and takes recoil damage. solgaleo ex is the only one i have that does 120 with 2 energy and it also takes recoil - that card isn’t balanced well imo either

i don’t really care about the popularity of online decks, i rarely play multiplayer. i mostly play solo battles and most of the mega cards are just broken imo. i don’t want to be forced to use one specific card or to even have to incorporate new cards at all. i put decks together the way i want to play and being forced to use new cards is not fun imo. i understand that they want people to use the cards they create and i think the incentive to get optional extra rewards when using new cards is good, but don’t force me to even have a chance at winning.

when you say “even worse with mega rising and chinling’s jingly noise” - well what if i don’t want to use chingling? if there is only one card that helps deal with it, it’s not balanced. or another, there’s oricorio that doesn’t take damage from ex moves. but i don’t want to build a deck around oricorio. i want to use the decks i built around the cards i like to use. if you have extremely specific cards that are the only countermeasure, your cards aren’t balanced. the fact is that it takes way too little set up, way too little risk and way too little strategy to use mega blaziken

and it’s not that i’m just upset i don’t have mega blaziken, i have it normal and in full three star art and i have a deck that uses it. i just don’t like how broken it is and building decks is boring when it’s basically use this specific fire type or have a much worse fire deck

honestly though, how is it that you don’t need the actual stage 2 evolution before mega evolving? that’s how it works in every other form of pokemon media; it’s on top of the full evolution. allowing for mega without the final evolution is ridiculous

Every era as its top decks and even broken decks... this happens in any similar card game too.

Again, even now Mega Blaziken isn't broken, is not even in the top 10 best decks... I'll not repeat its weaknesses... but how many significant tournaments has Mega Blaziken won recently? Zero lol and its limitless tournament win rate? 42% lol

    Not so good isn't it?

You're probably just playing casualy and you don't understand for a deck to be broken has to win tournaments and consistently placing in top 8.

If you still think Mega Blaziken is so broken go play with it in any online tournament then come back here and tell how many games you won.
