Very random question

So I've been called male by multiple people on here, and I'm curious on why y'all think that

I'm not going to say my gender and to be honest I don't care what y'all call me

He, she, they, that guy over there

It's not important to me

I'm just curious because I've tried to keep all hints at any gender little to none but have still been called male

Again, don't care but just asking

———

Also, to keep this Pokémon related, what's your favorite Pokémon

@Hades0918 the user with a Charizard pfp.” That is all I need to assume a gender. Hades is the god of d34th that give off a more masculine identity then rainbows and pink puppy’s does. Charizard literally has a 87.5 percent male rate.

it’s the default gender I go to probably cause he is the easiest to write compared to she and they also cause majority of my friends are male it’s kind of like habit

Honestly for me, it’s the name.
Hades I think of as a boy name.

    Charizard

…I mean, Hades, your namesake, is male. I tend to think of Charizard as a he. And also I guess your ‘voice’ sounded more like a boy.

I thought you were male because charzard looks like a boy to me and you play alot of boy games on the switch.

To put it simply, "man" is seen as the default in most cultures. Most people assume that someone with a feminine physical appearance is a "woman." Online, nobody can see your body or how you physically present yourself, so the assumption is usually based off of whatever name you go by and whether your behavior/profile/avatar/whatever seems "feminine." IMO, people WILL gender strangers online as female, but only if these people are sufficiently "feminine" acting or have "feminine" enough profiles. So, if your profile and behavior (interests, writing style, personality traits, yes, gender stereotypes and roles are truly as bizarre as that) is seen as gender-neutral or "masculine," people just assume you are a man or boy no matter what.

Some people due to bigotry may assume that only men can be on the internet, so anyone stating that they are any other gender is ignored.

Also, my favorite Pokemon (for now) is Bisharp.

Maybe it's because Hades is a male name, combined with the fact that people on the internet always think everyone is a guy. I personally try to not assume genders. This makes me curious on what people think I am, though.

Hades just seems like a name a guy would pick.
