Mega Hydrapple

Also, I wrote a fan-fiction origin story:

Long ago, in the heart of the Verdant Hollow, there grew a solitary apple tree unlike any other. Its roots reached deep into the earth, tapping into ancient magic buried beneath forgotten ruins. The villagers nearby called it the “Warden Tree,” for it bore fruit only once every hundred years — a single, gleaming apple that shimmered with golden sap and pulsed faintly with life.

One harvest moon, a curious alchemist named Elowen ventured into the Hollow, drawn by tales of the tree’s power. She plucked the centennial apple and, against warnings etched into the bark, infused it with a potion meant to grant wisdom. But the magic was wild and old — it did not bend to her will.

The apple split open, and from its sticky core erupted a tangle of serpentine necks, each crowned with a smaller apple. The creature that emerged was neither beast nor plant, but a fusion of both: the Hydrapple. Its central head bore markings of celestial light and eyes that glowed with ancient knowledge. The others whispered in rustling leaves and hissing tones, echoing forgotten languages.

Rather than wreak havoc, the Hydrapple wandered the forest, guarding the Warden Tree and watching over the Hollow. It was neither feared nor adored — simply respected. Travelers who encountered it spoke of its gaze: not cruel, not kind, but deeply knowing.

To this day, the Hydrapple is said to appear only when the forest is quiet and the moon is full, its many heads swaying like branches in the wind, its sticky base rooted in mystery.

Yeah, it makes no sense, but it is an original thought at least.
