I'm pretty new to the Pokemon tcg and I really really love the game.

I've built a Mega Charizard X ex deck and I want your help improving it.

2 Pidgeotto MEW 17
2 Pidgeot ex OBF 164
3 Oricorio ex PFL 18
2 Charmeleon PFL 12
2 Mega Charizard X ex PFL 125
3 Pidgey MEW 16
3 Charmander MEW 4

1 Ultra Ball MEG 131
3 Superior Energy Retrieval PAL 189
1 Technical Machine: Evolution PAR 178
2 Buddy-Buddy Poffin TWM 223
1 Secret Box TWM 163
2 Rare Candy GRI 165
2 Lillie's Determination MEG 184
3 Firebreather PFL 119
2 Nest Ball SVI 255

    Giovanni's Charisma might be good

It let's you take an energy from your opponent's active Pokémon into their hand

In return, you get to put an energy from your hand to your active Pokémon

Delays opponent's attacks and gets you more energies to discard

    Also, Grand Tree

Grand Tree allows you to choose one of your Basic Pokémon in play and search your deck for its Stage 1 and 2, immediately evolving it

It is an Ace Spec stadium card

If you use it, I would advise Colress's Tenacity, which gets you an Energy and Stadium card from your deck to your hand

Don't know what to lose, but these would be nice additions

How about play a different deck. Not the same one EVERYBODY else plays.

I dunno about everybody. I looked at the card and built around it.

    What would you suggest ?

I'm new so dunno much about the Meta.

    Everyone uses Charizard

Whether Dark or Mega, it's just nonstop

I've used it, but I don't find the card that great

I used it with Ceruledge ex, which does more damage for each energy in your discard pile

Mega Charizard X just takes too much work to actually set up

I don't mind slow decks, but me using it was inefficient

Anyways, point is everyone is using it and it gets annoying

    Don't stress too much, though

    Enjoy the game!

Can you recommend something that's meta and fun at the same time ?

    It'd be great (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

    I'm sorry

I don't know much about Meta

I think it's just the cards and decks that everyone is using

For example, a lot of people have been pairing Dark type exes thar are incredibly powerful, like Marnie's Grimsnarl and Hydreigon (spellings may be wrong), with Mega Gengar because Mega Gengar's ability makes the opponent take one less prize card when they knock out a Dark ex

Because so many people are using Mega Gengar with overpowered Dark types, it has become Meta

    I could be wrong

That's just how I understand it

Like I said before, I don't really know the Meta

So I've been using Tera Charizard ex for some time now.

Even with the release of mega evolution I found tera Charizard to be pretty powerful.

However I switched to Mega Charizard due to its pure offense.

It can ohko anything in the game, something tera Charizard can't .

The trade for it is that it'll give up 3 prize cards.

Paired with pidgeot ex I can search for boss order and ohko any cards.

The only counter being mega gengar ex.

Mega Charizard requires a bit setup but it is extremely powerful once it starts.

My only complaint is that I seem to have a bad hand most of the time.

Any suggestions to improve this ?

You've already got Lillie's Determination, but let me also advise Iono

You and your opponent have to shuffle your hand and draw cards equal to the Prize Cards you have remaining

    Good for constant resets

Maybe, and this is a big maybe, Larry's Skill

Discard your entire hands and grab a Pokémon, Support, and Energy cards from your deck

Great for getting exactly what you need

    Also, PokéGear

Let's you search your deck for a Support card
