His Tepig landed a crit after a Tail Whip and Meadow is on 1 HP. Is this luck or is this the reverse?
I've decided to use a Potion instead of sacrifice one of my two other Pokémon. Meadow can do this. I believe in him.

He used a second Tail Whip. I am scared. My other Pokémon are still both only Lv. 4 and Croissant is on half HP, so I can't switch out. I can only hope Tackle does something.

He's on red HP and used Tail Whip again. Meadow is faster. I win, barely, thanks to the stupidity of the battle AI. Meadow grew to Lv. 9 and a half. I got 800 Poké (which would translate to eight American dollars)

My first encounter in the ranch was a Lv. 5 Riolu. In my non-nuzlockes, I would've spent at least ten minutes searching, so I wasn't expecting this, but I was hoping. Croissant's Super Luck must work out of battle as well.

Just the basic ones. If a Pokémon faints, it's gone, only one Pokémon per area, all of them must have nicknames, and no dupes. I don't like putting extra rules that make it harder since that's not how I like to play the game, nor is it possible with my skill level.
Also, Riolu has been caught! Its name is Blueberry, and it's mild but somewhat stubborn. I think the only thing that could shock me more than getting this thing in a nuzlocke is finding a random shiny in any of the 2D games.

It's not possible starting with this gen, so I can't even try. I could get a gift shiny Dratini if I beat the White Treehollow and battle a guaranteed shiny Haxorus if I see everything in the Pokédex, though, and even if they're not Legendaries they're still some of the few guaranteed non-event shinies, and there's two of them in the same game!
