Could you explain classes to me?

Never played D&D but perhaps the DM could tweak things to model it after PMD. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon is basically Dungeons&Dragons of Pokémon as I see it. If I was to join in, I'm an Alolan Vulpix(Female) with following criteria: Nature is Modest, Ability is Snow Warning and I rolled the following: D4: 4, D6: 6, D8: 4, D10: 1, D20: 4. Whether I did things right I have no idea… lol.
In any case I think we should roll for our starting IV's with the roll dictating what IV value we get. I'll leave IV determination to DM but based on my rolls… my HP is good, Attack is good, Defense is middle of the pack but Speed and Special suck… For a Pokémon that needs Speed + Special… oh well. I recommend all characters start at level 5 like in PMD with two basic moves. In my case, I'd have Powder Snow and Tail Whip. My ability causes Snow to whip up for 5 Battle turns that bumps Defense of Ice Types by 50%(from the Hail rework).
Assuming I got IV values of 31/31/15/2/6/6, my starting stats(based on a calculator) would be following:
HP: 20Attack: 9
Defense: 9
Speed: 11
SpA: 11
SpD: 11
Not great, but not horrible either.

I still don't understand the math of the roll yet, so once I get the dice I'll roll and ask @clasingla what they want to do with my numbers

Barbarian is a primal warrior who Rages in combat.
Bard is a spellcaster who uses music.
Cleric is a holy warrior who uses radiant and healing magic.
Druid is a spellcaster who can transform into animals
Fighter is an all rounder with weapons who deals a lot of damage.
Monk is a powerful melee fighter who doesn't really use weapons.
Paladin is a fusion between the fighter and the cleric.
Ranger is a hunter. That's basically it.
Rouge is a sneaky class who either steals stuff or launches sneak attacks.
Sorcerer is a spellcaster who uses their innate magic.
Warlock is a spellcaster who made a deal with a powerful being.
Wizard is a spellcaster who studied magic for years and can cast the largest variety of spells.

Not entirely sure what class an Alolan Vulpix would fall under but my guess, based on my Ability and movepool, I'd probably be a Wizard or Sorceress. Aurora Veil is going to be really OP if I last that long. Will have to find an Ice Stone for me to evolve though.

Hmm two Fire types + an Ice type so far. Hopefully there isn't Friendly Fire because if there is… well I'll be hurt the most since Fire resists Ice but not the other way around. I thought about going as an Hatenna that would obviously be a Cleric given its Healer ability and that it learns Heal Pulse. Maybe if someone joins in, they can take on that role ;)
