A Place To Complain

The lack of anything non-battle and non-Pokédex after SwSh's singular minigame of Pokémon Camp is depressing and the worst feature of recent Pokémon games. I spent so much time Mantine Surfing and travelling through Ultra Wormholes and doing contests and playing the many, many Pokémon Amie mini games and making PR videos and Pokéstar Studios movies and musicals and all the other mini games before that, and they were almost always my favourite part of every game. Even Z-A, their highest effort recent game, feels almost wholly empty in comparison to USUM, BW2, and even XY. I don't care for the National Dex or the graphics or having an open world, I just want them to give me more things to do than the main two quests of the game. I'll probably only play Z-A from now on during events, or to shiny hunt/get the Shiny Charm, or when they make something new, I don't think I'll play SV for any longer than half an hour across all future times I open it, and I won't play PLA again, but I'd play XY a billion more times if I could.

If I could force Pokémon to go back to its 2D roots, I would. Not because I like the 2D design over 3D but because the 2D titles had a lot more thought and care put into them. Better story, chracters and the fact we could explore towns/buildings. Even the mini-games were better.
Yet since I know that the 3D change is set in stone, I wouldn't mind a new MMO set in the Pokémon Universe. Namely instead of creating new regions every ~3 years, we could have a game that takes all the existing regions and slaps them together(basically Gold/Silver on steroids). Players would have the means to pick and choose their starting region and consequently what their starting Pokémon would be. They'd even have the option of having a starter that isn't among the regional trio and in addition to facing random NPC's, we'd also face other players in Pokémon Battles(kind of like the Battle Club in Unova). In other words, PvE and PvP content with the ability to hit all other regions once a player has cleared their starting region of their choice. Gym Leader Pokémon would scale in level, meaning you don't have to do Gym Leaders in a specific order so if you wanted to face Brock last, you could.

I feel that a little bit. Minigames were some of the most entertaining things and they've slowly removed them. USUM still is probably my favorite pokemon game I've played, and it was because there was so much to do (not to mention the awesome clothes). Though SH and XY come in close second.

That's also in the original games.

Very much so, a lot of us are upset about the state of the franchise.

some of the new megas absolutely suck. mega dragonite and starmie are really lazy and boring. they feel really spiteful to the people who like those pokemon imho

I mean it is in a better state than some other series but as someone who has played older titles and have been with the franchise for over a decade or so I can see the decline in quality. A lot of people would say the decline started with the entry to the 2D era but I would say it started with Sword/Shield, which I found was one of the worst mainline entries in the series only being surpassed by Scarlet/Violet. Sword/Shield did add some new features which were nice but other than that changed the gym system for the worse, did not have much post story content, restricted the amount of Pokemon that are allowed in the game, and worst of all introduce DLC's. Unfortunately it only has gotten worse from there as all of these features and flaws have now become streamline for the series, with Day 1 DLC's being insult after injury. There have been some great things from the new entries such as the new combat system introduced in Legends Arceus and improved on in Legends Z-A but the cons outweigh the pros. I am upset at the franchise because I care about the franchise, and it saddens me to see what it has become. The franchise needs some sort of return to form, with entries that are more similar to entries like Black/White and Diamond/Pearl while keeping the improvements made in the Legends spin-off such as the new catch and combat system.
