Gengar is much faster than Crustle and hits hard with special moves like Shadow Ball.

Crustles physical bulk doesn’t help much against Gengar’s special attacks.

Gengar can also use status moves like Hypnosis or Will-o-Wisp to shut Crustle down.

If Crustle has Sturdy or gets a Shell Smash off, it can turn the fight around.

After a Shell Smash, Crustles Attack and Speed boost can let it one-shot Gengar with a strong move like Rock Slide or Stone Edge.

So its kind of hard but I chose Gengar.

If Mega Evolution and Gigantimaxing are allowed, then my money's on Gengar.

    Hmm...

Both of them are strong in the area the other is weak, but my thing is that Gengar is much faster

However, I don't remember Gengar having an attack that has an advantage over Crustle

Or at least one that matches its good stats

On the other hand, I can't find any Ground type moves Crustle can learn

The only one of Stomping Tantrum, but I'm not sure

I'm pretty sure, though, that it can learn Shadow Claw

But something @fineasmatei mentioned got me thinking

Gengar can use status moves like Willow Wisp and Hypnosis

But I'm thinking that after using them it can follow up with Hex, which does double when there is a status on the opponent

It is also a ranged attack, which is where Gengar's strength lies and Crustle is weak

So what I'm thinking is Gengar uses its speed to use Hypnosis to put Crustle to sleep, follows it with something like Willow Wisp or Toxic, then constantly use Hex while Crustle is asleep and unable to do anything

    I'm thinking Gengar

    Gengar wins!

    Six to one

I'm hoping that the PokéDex gives a good match up because so far all of the battles have been practically one sided!

I know voting is over, but I'd also go Gengar!
