Pokemon's Issues...
I'm not out for blood or anything, but there are a few minor QoL (Quality of Life) features that need improving.
For example, if you get traded a Pokemon, you can only name it once, which makes sense. But when you get a Pokemon from another country, in my case, Korea, it's name is in the native language, even if it's just the Pokemon's base name. So my Alolan Raichu is now forever named Raichu in Korean. If you can change the base name for one of the same language, why not from another language?
And the same problem comes from Event Pokemon. I get it for Jirachi, as a he's pretty much impossible to get shiny, but what's the point of titling the event "My Very Own Mew" when I can't even customize mine to my liking? And for anybody who says it's so the event Mew "don't get passed as original Mew", the Cherish Ball is already a dead giveaway.
This isn't meant to be hateful, I'm just saying that sometimes the small things are the things that can make or break an experience.

For some, getting a Pokémon named in a different language can be a really cool thing, so your experience is not universal. Still, I understand your frustration.
This is something that could easily be a setting in the game. You could set it to only show nicknames for Pokémon from a game in the same language, and revert to the default local name in other cases.
Honestly I think the option to hide nicknames in general might be useful for people who don't want to see them.
Mind you, we can't even opt out of the exp. share or shift battle style any more, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think they should fix some shinies since it's no fun to find a really rare shiny that looks like trash
I do think though that you should be able to re-name pokemon from trade since most of them have terrible nicknames
Even I name Pokemon terrible things (I had a Cubchoo that I named Don't have it so that I could trade with people requesting certain Pokemon)

But these are our beloved Pokémon that we treasure and give nicknames only after serious and sincere contemplation. It is why I, after much thought and consideration, named by Pidgy "Butt". The hilarity that ensued when I had it use gust.
My sides lift orbit after splitting from my torso.
In all seriousness, I don't think we should erase OT nicknames. It gives them character. If they are named something illegible or embarrassing we should be able to hide it, though.
