Partially attacking with sableye ignores time?

My opponent attacked with Sableye ( lost mine) but only placed 4 damage counters then stopped. Their timer continued to countdown from 17 minutes and it got down to 0 and still nothing happened. I eventually tried to concede as it wasn’t going anywhere and it wouldn’t let me concede either
