Android - Game Freezes While Loading - Stuck on the Pokeball Screen

I have a Galaxy Tab S7.
After allowing Samsung to update Android on my tablet (never again), the game hangs on the Pokeball loading screen.
I have tried reboot and uninstall/reinstall in different permutations, all with the same disappointing results.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Also curious - Is there any history of PTCGO getting bug fixes on tablets in between set release updates?
