This generation of pokemon is one of my favorites. they did a great job on their designs of both the pokemon and the game, lots of interesting new pokemon, and great artwork in the galar pokedex book. Some of my favorite pokemon from this gen are cursola, glastrier, boltund, flapple, Hisuian Arcanine, hisuian zoroark, arctovish, hisuian electrode, toxtricity, runerigus, alcremie, polteageist, and arctozolt.

My first Pokemon game was Gen 8 (Sword & Shield) so I like all of the Pokemon (except Orbeetle, Grimmsnarl, and Hattrene)

@Acornyo Sword and Shield was also my first game! (I got Shield.) It's also when I started the tcg, so the whole era is a special one for me. My favorite Pokemon were: The inteleon line, Greedent, Cramorant, Obstagoon, Eiscue, Duraludon, the Dragapult line, and Glastrier, which is extra special since my first competitive TCG deck was Ice Rider Calyrex.

Why do I feel old? My first mainline game was X…

@puplover1118 same for both though I started on Y. I can't imagine what's it's like for people who started on older games.

I find it really hard to understand that some people started with the switch games, as someone who also started with the 3DS (used copy of X, then I played Sun).

Anyway, Sobble, Scorbunny, Spectrier, Applin, Hattrene, Alcremie, and the fossils.

Also while looking at the Pokédex I noticed a lot of new forms are Unova Pokémon. We actually got forms for Pokémon like Yamask and Zorua, and even Basculin. Basculin. How

Anyway it's suspicious how much Unova content we're getting. It's not just "kinda weird" at this point, we've gotten an entire DLC in Unova somehow.

Are they trying to make so much Unova stuff that it's as much as a remake would have so they don't have to make one (hopefully not but still kinda terrifying, please give us BW3 at least so I can see Unova characters but old)?

@UnovanZorua BW3 would be amazing. I feel that, ever since Pokémon Journeys, there has been an effort by Game Freak and the Pokémon Company to interconnect the separate regions of the Pokémon world, and BW3 would be able to show the Unova region after the events of the Indigo Disk. Not only that, it could cap off the over decade-long mystery surrounding the original Unovan dragon.

And I also agree that there are way too many Unova references, even in base Scarlet/Violet, and way more in the Indigo Disk. The Poke-Star studios logo on the shirts of poke-maniacs, Iron Thorns, Unovan musical references in the terarium, the portraits of Black City and White Forest, the descendants of gym leaders, just to name a few. So, with BDSP behind us, perhaps it’s time to return to the region of many bridges for, hopefully, the ultimate Unova experience.
