Pokemon TCG Live will not open

Following the update of TCG Live with Silver Tempest, I can now no longer play this game on my MacBook.

    The error did not explain what was causing the issue, but when I went through the Pokemon service centre to complete a claim, I was asked to fill in a questionnaire about my computer. One of the questions was: "What operating system is your computer running?" This prompted me to find out, and I discovered a new update of Operating System was indeed on standby.

    The update took hours of time and connection needed to be maintained to a power source, but then Pokemon TCG Live was useable again.
