Nidoran Evolution Shenanigans (SV 151)

Hey guys I've been experimenting with Nidoking and Nidoqueen from SV 151 lately and ive noticed that the game will usually will allow me to evolve a Nidorina from the male Nidoran or a Nidorino from the female., and occasionally will even let me rare candy the wrong one as well. Firstly, this is incorrect, secondly, whenever I do this the game doesn't let me take any more actions fo a while until it passes to the other player.
