Best pokedex
Which game had you favorite pokedex. I would probably have to go with galar or paldea because they have the most variety.

National Dex is close, but most of the Dex entries are unoriginal.

Which region has the best Pokédex of new Pokémon for the region, or the best regional dex, including older Pokémon, before unlocking the national dex?
I may be alone on this, but I would suggest Unova. The regional dex consisting entirely of new Pokémon may have been a reason many fans stepped away from the series at the time, but I think it was a bold choice and gave the region its own strong identity. (Which it kind of needed because the map was an oval, but the physical layout of Unova itself is arguably one of the game's weakest points. )
Yes, many of the Pokémon filled similar nichés to previous Pokémon, but the previous regions had all had their own rat Pokémon, bird Pokémon, cave dwelling bats, Pikachu clone, mechanical electric type, ghosts etc., in many cases alongside the Kanto Pokémon that filled those nichés in the first place.
People make fun of the rubbish Pokémon, the ice cream Pokémon, etc., but I don't see how those are any more unusual than Grimer, Exeggcute or Voltorb. If anything they gave their own riff on a similar theme.
My main criticism of the Unova dex would be too many legendaries and legendary trios, but that was a compounding problem carried over from previous games, and I think Sinnoh really started bloating the legendary count.
