Issue with drawing into Raihan after a Pokémon is knocked out

So my active Pokémon was knocked out and I drew into Raihan and the game would not let me play it. Anyone else experience this?

    Did you have a Basic Energy in the discard?

    No Basic Energy in the discard pile is the most common reason. Also, the Pokemon has to have been knocked out during your opponent's turn, while Poison & Burn are applied between turns.
