My Mixed Feelings on DLC Storyline (spoilers)
Kieran's arc of giving in to resentment towards the player for something that we had NO hand in is just strange to me. When he was introduced to us in the DLC, I initially saw him as this shy kid who didn't really seem capable of making friends, and I was hoping to have an arc of us helping him break out of his shell.
But NOPE- Instead I'm forced to keep secrets from him alongside his older sister, a character I don't really like, and who may possibly be in part to blame for why Kieran is so shy.
But what are your thoughts? I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing but there seems to be a lot to unpack here.

To be honest, I don't think Kieran was ready to know that Ogerpon was really the good Pokémon. He loves it way too much. Even if we told him later, he would still be mad we lied after we met a Pokémon he loved so much. And it'd be dangerous if he went to search for Ogerpon on the night the festival started, even if he's a trainer, and he'd still be very jealous, plus he'd probably lose confidence more every time we defeat him regardless and desire power.
After we saw Ogerpon without him, I doubt there were many ways he wouldn't have gone evil. The lying was just to give him even more reasons to get jealous and angry.

@UnovanZorua True. However, that still doesn't make me feel better.
Kieran is a character who has ways to grow but ends up growing worse rather than trying to address his flaws.
Carmine is a character who has ways to grow but doesn't really acknowledge those flaws or try to do better.
These two factors leave me feeling dissatisfied with the narrative. I'm hoping Indigo Disk continues the narrative and has one or both of the characters actually experience some positive development.

I'd say Carmine had character development. It's just subtle, since you wouldn't expect a real person to just change quickly. She was more considerate of Ogerpon near the end and realises she did wrong things. And it does kind of makes sense that she doesn't know what to say to Kieran or how to help him, as I don't think it'd make sense for a person to apologise for their mistakes the moment they realise those were mistakes.
It'd be harder to make realistic and good characters in one DLC so I'm glad they didn't pretend they can have character development that quickly and left some things to be resolved in DLC2.

@UnovanZorua It seems to be an idea prevalent in the Teal Mask that things aren't always what they seem.
Everyone in Kitakami thought they knew the truth about Ogrepon and the Loyal Three when it was really the opposite.
Likewise, you think you know Kieran and Carmine when you see them, but over time you see the other sides of their personalities.
