I miss the ability to choose which version of a card is played.
It's a relatively minor complaint, but back in the PTCGO days I could choose which card would be played, even if they are identical in effect. For example, I'm playing a Charizard ex deck, with a regular version, and a gold version in it. I was kind of disappointed, after using a rare candy that the regular version popped on the board. If I have a better version of the card, I want to play it and show it off.
What's the point in getting a cool card if you can't choose to actually show it off, and it remains in your hand, never to be seen?

The upside to cards stacking is that it is easier to see all of the cards in your hand & deck. But you are pointing out the downside. I think that the best solution would be to offer a toggle of whether to stack cards or not. Then you can quickly see all of the cards you have, but still be able select specific arts with the click of a button.
