Sky Seal Stone bug

My opponent attached Sky Seal Stone to their benched Genesect V and used the VSTAR ability. They then used escape rope to bring my benched Miraidon ex into the active spot and knock it out with their active Meloetta, taking 3 prize cards instead of 2, and winning the match.

Miraidon ex is not a VMAX or a VSTAR, and Meloetta is not a basic V, which are the conditions printed on Sky Seal Stone. Therefore my opponent should have only taken the normal 2 prize cards and not 3.

Additionally, my opponent made all of these moves in one turn, in quick succession, seemingly aware of the outcome. This demonstrates to me that some players are aware of the bug and are exploiting it.
