[User Interface] Feedback: Lack of First Turn Indication
Problem: It is unclear who is going first after the heads/tails coinflip decision. The current popup doesn't last long enough, and the yellow turn indicator only appears after setup.
Description: To determine who goes first, a coin is flipped. Whoever wins the coinflip selects if they want to go first, or second. The player who did not conduct the coinflip is given a short, very plain popup at the top of their screen indicating whether they will go first or second (that is, whichever turn the coin-flipping player did not choose). In my experience, this popup is easily missed, and even sometimes masked by mulligan information. The indicator that shows whether you are going first or second is simply not displayed long enough, neither is it bold enough. If the popup is missed, there is no indication of which player is going first.
Relevance: It can be an important part of the game to know who is going first at the time of setup so that you can optimally determine which Pokemon to set as active, and or on the bench. This is not a bug report, however, I believe it would greatly improve the user experience.
Suggestion: Add a permanent indicator to the screen identifying who is going first. This marker would solve any confusion or possible masking of other notifications (either highlighting cards, looking at your hand, looking away from the game for a second, or a mulligan popup). This in fact already exists as a turn indicator highlight while the game is being played, except it is not active during the setup phase. Image 1 shows the issue, there is no persistent indication of which player is going first. Image 2 shows the existing indicator that appears only after the game "starts" after both players have selected their basic Pokemon, indicating who's turn is currently in progress.
Image 1: No indicator in setup.
Image 2: Turn indicator present after setup (under the right side displaying timers, vstar token, and buffs/debuffs). It is the yellow glow; also visible as the yellow glow around the playfield (currently visible on the blue player's side (me).
