Virizion V SSP 295: Verdant Wind ability doesn't work on (some) Pokémon already in play
I have found a highly replicable bug with Virizion V SSP 295 where, at least under some circumstances, its Verdant Wind ability will not work correctly on Pokémon that already have grass energy attached when Virizion V enters play.
I have specifically encountered this with Snorlax LOR 143. On a prior turn, the Snorlax, with three grass energy attached, used its Thumping Snore attack, which puts itself to sleep, with the caveat that two coins are flipped instead of one, and both must be heads to recover. On the next turn, the Snorlax failed its checkup coin flips, so remained asleep. I put Virizion V into play with the expectation that its Verdant Wind ability would allow Snorlax to recover from the Special Condition, but this didn't happen—the game showed an animation of Verdant Wind activating, but Snorlax remained asleep.
In another match, when Virizion V was in play before the Snorlax used its Thumping Snore attack, Virizion V correctly prevented Snorlax from putting itself to sleep. Additionally, if I attach additional (grass) energy to Snorlax when it is asleep and putting Virizion V into play didn't wake it up, then the Verdant Wind ability will correctly activate and wake up Snorlax.
I have tested neither whether this issue occurs specifically only with Snorlax LOR 143 and similar attacks or abilities that have unique restrictions on Special Conditions, nor whether it occurs with Special Conditions inflicted by opponents. There were no abilities or stadiums in play that would have prevented Verdant Wind from working, such as Klefki SVI 96 or Path to the Peak CRE 148.
