PTCG Live needs an Advanced mode
It's pretty clear from playing Live as compared to PTCGO that the developers were aiming for the younger audience and also beginner players. From the focus on avatar customization, to the excessive and flashy animations, the very bright colors overall, and the endless prompts during gameplay - it's reaching for the young and new players. That's fine, but please give older and experienced players some options, such as an advanced mode. This could be toggled on/off en masse or just made individually available in the game client as options within the settings. Ideas for an advanced mode (many of which are already in PCTGO):
- A selection of different game board colors or themes, preferably with some muted colors (mobile is particularly bright and jarring)
- Reduce the number of animations and VFX (already available in desktop, but not mobile where it's needed most)
- Game logs for each battle, which can be exported
- Statistics for each battle, and for each deck you've played
- Ability to view competitor's profile (and whatever decks and statistics they make publicly available)
- Eliminate endgame victory animations (not really tasteful)
- Eliminate confirmation prompt for prize cards after cards are selected
- Eliminate confirmation prompt to select prize cards when the game is clearly won
The list could go on... so many players have already said the above in different ways, but the changes come very slow at best or ignored. Advanced mode please!
As an aside, my 8-year old daughter saw me playing Live on a tablet, and she said it played way too slow. So even the younger audience notices the problems...
