Shining Arcana soft lock?

I used Shining Arcana when I had no cards in my deck to see what would happen. I didn't know what to expect, but the game soft-locked and I was unable to do anything. No timer appeared, but the game eventually gave the turn to my opponent who would win the game in that turn (the Gardevoir would continue to float in the air as if the ability was still being used). I obviously knew it wasn't going to work but I didn't expect the game to be unplayable after that.
