Ultimately, you choose to catch the odd Kricketot, even though you were tempted by the Morpeko and Pumpkaboo. The Kricketot wasn’t too hard to catch, being a weak bug and all.
You let the golden bug out of its Pokéball to confirm that, yes, it is a strange colour. You had heard about the phenomenon of shiny Pokémon before, but didn’t expect to meet any shiny Pokémon on your journey.
You check your bag (which has four more Pokéballs), and continue to Route 2, where you see a Murkrow, Pansage, Rookidee, Phantump, Duskull, and Rowlet.
